We recognize that marriage is often a time when friends offer gifts to the couple in celebration and support. For those of you who feel so inclined, we offer a way to do so while also contributing to charitable organizations we feel strongly about. You may also make a direct donation in our honor.
Charitable Organizations
Below is information on the organizations we are supporting as we celebrate our marriage.
- The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) – donate directly
- Multiple Myeloma is a cancer of the plasma cells in bone marrow. Erskin's grandfather, who is also his namesake, suffered from this disease, as did Kira's grandmother, Elaine.
- The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) – donate directly
- With technology growing ever more integral to our lives, and laws so frequently unable to keep pace, having an organization keep watch over threats to our electronic liberties is ever more vital.
Registries
Below are links to our wedding registries. The first two registries will donate a portion of the proceeds from each gift to the first two charitable organizations listed above. These donations are processed at no cost by the I Do Foundation. Please note that is it only through starting from these links that donations are assured of being provided.
- Cooking.com donates 10%
- Cooking.com donates the largest percentage of each purchase to the MMRF and the EFF.
- Amazon.com donates 4%
- Amazon.com offers a wider selection and an easier to use interface, but also donates a smaller percentage.
- Bed Bath & Beyond does not donate
- Bed Bath & Beyond is the only registry which provides a physical storefront, but does not donate any portion of purchases.
