Perhaps someday a gift will simply be that which is given by a friend when they happen upon something they know will be enjoyed, instead of the more arbitrary reasons of time of year, biological relation, or repetative custom.
Until then, here's a list of gifts you might purchase for me if you feel more need than you have ideas. (Or if you just happen to be me and need to remind yourself of that wonderful trinket you didn't have money enough to purchase when you first discovered it.)

You might try BookPool for the technical books here, as they are often cheaper and I've yet to update all these links since I found them.
This section has become so outdated I simply removed it. You really should probably just contact me directly. Odd that, for a guy who makes a living creating web pages, I can't keep my own up to date.
I also keep somethings in my Amazon.com WishList, though it's more stuff I intend to purchase for myself than things I actually pick to share with others. Sometimes I even just put things there and change my mind the next day. So, if you use this, be careful.
